Fire doors are a critical component of the fire strategy of a building. Inspections, maintenance and installation must be undertaken by a competent person. This is someone with sufficient training, qualifications, experience, and knowledge to be able to implement fire safety measures. This is where Yeoman Shield Fire Door Services can help.
Fire door inspections are undertaken by our qualified fire door inspectors.
All our inspectors have successfully passed industry-recognised qualifications.
We offer two types of survey, an intrusive survey where we check a minimum of 10% of the back of frames to ascertain if they have suitable fire stopping, this may involve the removal of architraves.
We also offer a non-intrusive survey where the back of frames are not checked, and no assumptions are made with regards to the fire stopping.
Once our survey is complete, we will issue a comprehensive report indicating any issues we have found and the required remedial work to bring them back to conformity.
To provide a quotation for a survey we would need to know the number of fire rated doors you require inspecting and whether the survey is to be intrusive or non-intrusive. We can total the number of doors from the fire compartmentation drawings, or other floor plans that identify the doors and their intended fire ratings.

Cladding doors with Yeoman Shield PVCu protection will reduce the risk of damage to the door core, extending the lifespan of the doorset.

This can be part of maintenance & remedial work or undertaken separately as required.
Where the fire certification is known for fire doors under BS476 Part 22: 1987 or BS EN 1634-1, the fitting of our PVCu door edge protection and PVCu clad glazing beads can be carried out under the FIRAS third-party certification scheme.
Where doorsets are identified as nominal fire rated, cladding work is carried out under best practice.
